New Oil and Gas Service Company Deploy Efficient Wireless Network
CURRENT STATUS
The company is a new but fledging Oil and Gas services company, with Shell Petroleum has one of the major client.
With the increase in business operations, the company moved to a new location with over 20 new employees (administrative and on-site) and 30 new offices. They wanted to provide internet access to every department in the premises but preferred to have this deployed wirelessly to avoid the inherent challenges in cabled LAN systems. This they needed before staff moved in and days to an scheduled inspection by Shell Petroleum. With the schedule, the project deadline seem impossible.
THE SOLUTION
Oconn Systems, working with the company's Operations Manager, helped the client configure router powered WAN (Wide Area Network) over 40, Laptop and Desktop systems, connected (wirelessly) to a central LaserJet printer incorporated over ISP internet service at a cost-effective rate. This was achieved in record time. Besides access to the Internet router, the WAN also provide file sharing and system security utilities.
THE RESULT
Being able to showcase its many facilities and capability, the Internet ready environment satisfied the schedules and Employees work and exchange processes and files seamlessly.
The company enjoys a Computer Network without littering the offices with wired cables.

Current Status
Consisting of 11 subsidiaries, the Obijackson Group is one of Nigeria's most successful internationally focused EPC company.
The subsidiaries provide various energy focused engineering services to the major Oil MNCs in Nigeria and beyond. Since 2008 when Oconn Systems re-designed and developed NestoilGroup.com, the website has been used by all subsidiaries has their only online presence.
With the growth experienced by all sub units since 2008, by 2011 Obijackson Group began discussion on the approach and possibilities to providing subsidiaries with self-serving online brand and presence.
The Solution
With each company having its own management, the first step for Oconn Systems was to advise on the skin, look and feel of each site, planning a unique web identity for each enterprise. We then proceeded with a presentation of a set of website outlook to management for discussion. This approach provided room for on-going reviews and opinions up and till 2012. This ensured that the content types and architecture were well defined.
The Result
Oconn System has since begun responding with a clean, uncluttered set of websites that highlight the companies capabilities and resources. A gradual roll out of the began in 2011, with Century Power and Time Power Global being the first in 2011. Hammakopp Consortium and B&Q Dredging followed in 2012.
The companies enjoy a simple and flexible design to serve the needs of both clients and employees in developing more informative, comfortable, and guided interactions. The websites are updated periodically by a designated staff within the companies using Oconn Systems' custom built flexible, powerful CMS (Content Management Systems), siteBoss, the CMS does notrequiring any technical know-how.

Total E&P Deploys Collaborative Social Platform for Host Community Students
CURRENT STATUS
Total E&P is one of the four major MNCs operating in the Nigerian Oil and Gas industry. The Host Community Students formed themselves into an association composed of over 450, 000 students, from the Universities, Secondary School, and Nursery Schools.
Total E&P and the Executives of the Student Body felt it was time to provide the association a website. But also a platform to enhance, coordinate activities and collaboration on set projects. It was thought to be a two-tier solution.
THE SOLUTION
Oconn Systems was consulted to proffer a possible solution, with only two requirement to work with: a need for a website and a portal solution for interaction and exchange among the students. We then assessed the need and recommended a single-tie, closed Social Network application that also provided the usual informative content for the consumption of the public audience with both facilities sitting on a single master database powered by a robust User Management System.
Rather start a coding campaign from scratch, Oconn Systems looked into the arsenal of tools available: siteBoss (our in-house customization Content Management Solution) or another Open Source alternative. With some Object-orinted coding siteBoss could meet the requirement but we decided on Drupal. While siteBoss is still in the works to achieve such massive Enterprise demand, Drupal, with a global community of contributors and added scalability, was already mature for this kind of project.
Oconn Systems also carried out huge Writing Editing to match the produced write ups to web standards and clear readability. For sustainability, we conducted a total 2-days 15 hours hand-over Demystify session that help executives and designated members understand the administration of the system delivered.
THE RESULT
Oconn Systems deployed an Online Community Application with many similar features as can be found on Facebook.com. The student members have privileged access to application features that foster interaction and collaboration while there are informative public content. While functionality is key, Oconn Systems maintained the tradition of not placing function or aesthetics above each other and produced a cool, freshly interface.
The platform so created has readily increased interest by community members and students in the Associations activity while Total E&P has further gain respect as a responsible community development partner.
